Trust Accounting
CaseSolo records trust activity in one canonical ledger backed by TrustAccount, TrustTransaction, and TrustReconciliation records. Dashboard trust summaries, case trust ledgers, client trust dashboards, and the trust transaction API all write through the same posting path.
What Staff Can Do
- Create trust deposits, disbursements, fee payments, interest entries, transfers, and cost reimbursements.
- Review trust balances by case and across the firm.
- Reconcile bank balance, book balance, and client-ledger balance.
- Preserve trust ledger history if a case is removed; trust transactions keep their financial record and clear the case link instead of being deleted.
Guardrails
- Debits cannot overdraw the trust account.
- Case-linked debits cannot overdraw that client's case balance.
- Posting locks the selected trust account while the transaction is written.
- Deletions are soft deletes so financial history can be audited.
- Trust-destination online payments require manual trust review before ledger posting.
Launch QA
Trust accounting is implemented locally with focused API coverage. Broad launch still requires QA-012 browser evidence for deposit, disbursement, reconciliation, refresh behavior, audit trail, and Stripe/legal payment failure handling.
