Creating a Case
From the Cases Page
- Navigate to Work → Cases
- Click the New Case button
- Complete the three-step wizard:
Step 1: Case Information
- Case Type — Required; choose the type that matches the incident.
- Incident Date — When the incident occurred
- Incident Location — Where it happened
- Description — Brief summary of what occurred
- Estimated Value — Optional initial estimate
- Lead Attorney — Select an available attorney or leave the case unassigned
Step 2: Select Client
- Search for and select an existing client.
- Create a client in the form by entering their first and last name.
- If the client is not yet known, choose Skip & Continue.
Step 3: Review & Create
- Review the case information, client and attorney selection.
- Go back to correct anything, then click Create Case.
- CaseSolo generates a case number and opens the new case.
While Starting an Agent
In AI & Automate → Agents, click an agent's Run button, then choose Create a case below the case selector. Complete the same three steps inside the dialog. The new case is selected when you return to the agent, and your additional input is preserved. Choose Back to agent to leave the form without creating a case.
See AI Agents Overview for the rest of the run workflow.
Case Statuses
Each case moves through a defined workflow:
| Status | Description | |--------|------------| | Lead | Initial inquiry, not yet a case | | Intake | Client signed, gathering information | | Active Treatment | Client receiving medical treatment | | Demand Preparation | Building the demand package | | Demand Sent | Demand letter sent to insurance | | Negotiation | Active settlement negotiations | | Litigation | Lawsuit filed | | Trial | Case in trial | | Settlement | Settlement reached | | Disbursement | Distributing settlement funds | | Closed | Case complete | | Rejected | Case declined |
From a Lead
If you use the lead management system:
- Navigate to Leads
- Find the qualified lead
- For a native lead, update the status to Retained or click Convert
- For a lead created by an intake form, click Open Case to continue the existing lead-status case
The Leads inbox includes both manually entered leads and intake-created lead cases. Converted lead rows are deduped against their case so the same prospect is not counted twice.
Case Numbers
Cases are auto-numbered per firm using the format YYYY-NNNN (e.g., 2026-0001). Numbers are sequential and unique within your firm.
